Asian turkey meatballs

  • by

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground chicken/turkey
– ¼ CUP chopped fresh cilantro
– ¼ CUP chopped green onion
– 2 tsp minced garlic
– 1 tsp olive oil
– 1 TBSP freshly grated ginger (I use a microplane)
– 1 beaten egg
– ¼ CUP bread crumbs (I toast my sourdough and mill it to make the crumbs)
– 2 TBSP tamari ( #glutenfree soy sauce)
– Ramen noodles
– Pinch of salt

Directions

Instead of using parsley or basil, I used cilantro, and instead of just using garlic, I added ginger. Instead of using Worcestershire sauce for example, I used tamari. Instead of spaghetti I used ramen noodles, and instead of red sauce I tossed in a bit more of soy sauce and a little sesame oil. You see ingredients change flavors and the usual “Italian meatballs” turned into a more “Asian meatball” and they were so, so good

1. Combine all the ingredients & shape the meatballs. Grease a pan and cook them shaking the pan so they sear all-round and get golden and crispy but soft inside
2. Quickly saute the green onion I 1 julienned zucchini, cook it in a bit more of tamari (that will be “the sauce”). They are so good!!
